Job Description

DHS is comprised of three divisions: Division of Aging Services, Division of Child Support Services, and the Division of Family and Children Services.
The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is working to implement significant child welfare reform through the Blueprint for Change plan, which is the Division’s roadmap to improving the lives of the children and families we serve. Job Description
The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Placement and Permanency Section have the unique opportunity of establishing a state level care coordination treatment team. Under general supervision, 14 Care Coordinators will work in two teams of 7 and report to their respective supervisor and administrator. The Care Coordinators are responsible for monitoring and partnering with local DFCS staff, private and public providers/resources to manage and oversee the quality of care provided to children in foster care including but not limited to Amerigroup managed care, promotion of family-based care, prevention of unnecessary placements through evidence based practices, service delivery and community mental health services. The assignments for these positions will be by DFCS regions.

Possession of a valid driver’s license and consistent access to an insured vehicle is required as a condition of employment.
Excellent project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
Ability to work effectively at multiple levels of the organization and with multiple project teams.
Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
