Assistant Director of Security – Augusta

Salary: $39,876.53 – $47,851.83

Location:  Richmond – Augusta

JOB SUMMARY:

Manages the operation and administration of a correctional institution or unit. Develops and implements appropriate security and facility policies and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs subordinate supervisors as well as other institutional staff.

Directs and personally monitors state prison security functions and activities to maintain the custody and security of juvenile offenders.

Identifies training needs and provides guidance and training to correctional staff. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges corrections employees.

Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for corrections staff.

Manages the operations and activities of correctional facilities and detention centers.

Monitors budget activities of correctional facilities.

Monitors, inspects, and evaluates operations, programs, services, activities, and conditions.

Oversees and/or conducts inspections, searches, investigations, and evaluations.

Performs crisis response, containment, and intervention in emergencies.

Plans, implements, directs, and coordinates various correctional programs and activities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of closely related experience in a criminal justice or correctional system OR Three years of supervisory custodial experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, One year of which is at a level equivalent to a manager in a law enforcement setting. Note: Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification.

Salary: $61,080.74 – $73,296.89

Location: Dodge – Eastman

JOB SUMMARY:

Manages the operations and activities of correctional facilities and detention centers.

Qualifications
 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of directly related experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Two years of which with management experience OR Six years of supervisory custodial experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Two years of which at a level equivalent to a manager in a law enforcement setting OR Six years of directly related experience in a criminal justice or correctional system, Eighteen months of which experience is required at the lower level Sr Mgr, Correctional Administration (PSM082) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification.
 
Preferred Qualifications – External: 

Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications possess three or more of the following.

Three or more years of work experience managing security in a correctional setting.
One or more years of experience managing and monitoring a budget.
Experience in executing proper safety and sanitation standards, as well as search and seizure procedures.
Certificate of completion from the Correctional Leadership Institute, Command College, or similar program.
POST Accredited Management coursework (Management 1, 2, 3)
