Job Description:

• Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients.
• May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
• Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients’ charts.
• Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans.
• Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records.
• Modifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients’ responses and conditions.
• Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity.
• Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients’ conditions.
• Observes nurses and visits clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.
• Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments.
• Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.
• Provides education to client and family.
• Provides health care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in convalescence and rehabilitation.


Licensed Practical Nurse – 2nd Shift

Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse – 2nd Shift. This position will work 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm.

**This position requires a valid Georgia License and/or Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Georgia.

Job Description:

Provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections. May supervise support staff. May supervise and/or direct the work of others. Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients’ charts. Answers clients’ calls and determines how to assist them. Helps clients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, moving in bed, and standing and walking. Measures and records clients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in clients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action. Provides basic client care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages, or performing catheterizations. Records food and fluid intake and output. Works as part of a health care team to assess client needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions

Job Description:

Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a unit or shift. Ensures that staff assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Qualifications:

Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND Six months of nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications – External:

Must obtain the Safety Cares certification by completion of new employee orientation. Must have Current Georgia License. Experience working in an adult mental health care facility a plus but not required.
